Stage1

Stage 1 – Jog to Tain

Evening followers, I think I will start by naming this blog  “may the gale force be with you”. Our first night in the tent was eventful and it would suffice to say that chris & Dave snore like warthogs . After I got up for what must of been my 12th wee and an hour after we went to bed it started to rain, I was not happy and thought here we go.

We set off early after a hearty breakfast, knocked up by our very own phil Mitchell (mark). We took a photo in front of the sign that was not there and cracked on.

Hence the title we had a massive headwind for the entire ride that at times reduced us to 9mph, although the sun came out shortly after the off and we took the opportunity to top up the tan, everyone except chris that is who’s legs are still glow in the dark and as close to an albino as I have ever seen.

I must mention mark our amazing support driver who found the day so tiring, we cycled past him asleep by the side of the road with a collection bucket jammed between his legs, priceless…..We nearly got assaulted by a beer bottle that got lobbed out of a car in our direction by intelligent local, obviously not a fan of jogleists in these parts, wonder why?

Although the scenery was stunning as we weaved along the coast most of us struggled up at least 1 of the massive hills and could not wait to arrive at the campsite, that Shane was particularly proud of booking. All I’m going to say is that Shane is no mr logistics, we have a train track 5 yards to our left that when the trains go by every half hour it rattles the tent and to the right we have a busy A road. Shane’s justification is that it was cheap, shame we wont be getting any sleep.

We have all just demolished fish and chips, curry sauce and mushy peas so it won’t just be the train that rattles the tent.Wish us luck for day 2!

Love to all and keep raising that life saving money.

James
