2 days to go! ONLY 2 days, gosh where have the past 12 months gone?
As I write this we are loading the van with all our stuff, there seems to be a lot of it! When 6 blokes normally go on holiday together I would assume it’s just shorts and flip flops and that all important bottle opener! This is NOT turning out to be a lads week away!
As you can see by the picture, the van has been liveried, there’s some pictures of the team on the sides, but who wants to see a picture of 5 men in lycra??………………. form an orderly queue!
If there are any police officers reading this, please ignore the slightly stressed harassed man driving it, he might look like Grant Mitchell, but it’s all above board! So, Friday we endure the worst bit of the whole trip. The infamous EasyJet tidal wave towards the boarding gate at Bristol airport. I’ve just read they are abolishing this chaos (for a small fee of course) but sadly not before Friday.
Flight to Inverness and then the last 90 miles in the van. When we get to John O’Groats, we turn round and cycle back!
One of the most important pieces of packing has been the ipod. There is only so much of Shane’s dulcet tones I’ll be able to put up with! I have never seen anyone get so excited about a lorry, if we could cycle on motorways he would be in his element! Love him dearly, but 12 days………………………………..
Anyway, It’s my turn to update the blog on Friday when we arrive and then the team will take it in turns throughout the 2 weeks. So I’ll update on the EasyJet customer service then!
Finally I would like to thank everyone who has already donated on the Justgiving page. Almost £900 already raised by friends and family which is great to see and I have been reliably informed the stores are all ready to go with their weekend of fun and the bracelet sales.
